The problem
Kindling’s programme worked beautifully and scaled terribly: matching, scheduling and progress tracking all lived in a founder’s head.
What we did
- 01Modelled matching as an explicit, tunable ruleset the team could adjust without engineering help.
- 02Automated scheduling, reminders and progress check-ins end to end.
- 03Built mentor-facing dashboards first — the group most likely to abandon a bad tool.
- 04Staffed the pod with two of our own apprentices, mentored throughout.
Where it landed
Kindling ran its largest cohort to date with fewer administrators than the pilot required, and the founder is no longer a single point of failure.
